Id go for that AVG 1st to get a 30 day free trial. Then when that is up get the totally free one AVG 7.5.515 Also Spybot S&D gets good write ups, You can use windows firewall but one that is free and gets good reviews is Comodo if used in advanced mode.

i dropped avg after i found a little interfering i now use avast, alongside weekly spybot and lavasoft ad aware runs. all of which are available from filehippo.
