Nice to have 10 cores (20 logical processors) again, however redundant they largely are!

Agree! Nearly three years on with mine now and doing just fine. Went from a 4 core so it was a BIG improvement.

For some inexplicable reason I'm tempted to bid on a Mac Pro A1289 (2010-2012) in a local auction. No hard drive, but supposedly 16gb memory and 2(?) graphics card. Suspect it'll go for £80.00 with premiums. No idea what I want it for, I've got a newer iMac, but it's just a nice thing to have.

So, easy enough to stick a SSD drive in it? Easy enough to re-install iOS? Boot up in recovery mode and follow the instructions?

Talk me out of it please!

very easy to bung an SSD in i would have thought, although no Mac expert ... not sure it would run latest iOS?

a pc full overhaul scheduled for the weekend, its gonna blow if i don't get all that dust out

Im due for mine. The HP Z620 has like 11 fans in it and no dust filters... It's safe to assume that if these things existed in WW2, With a simple blow, i could perform a smoke screen on demand in a naval battle with the amount of dust this thing accumulates!

Puzzle game procrastinator!
The sound quality on my Lenovo Ideapad laptop was ok for casual use (YouTube videos etc.) when new but I eventually blew its left speaker. I have been listening in mono through the right speaker since then when I can't be bothered to walk across the room and switch on my bluetooth TV soundbar. (The soundbar is warm even in standby so it must be drawing significant power. I therefore turn off the power to it when it is not being used.) I ordered a replacement left laptop speaker on ebay yesterday but guess what...? Yes - the right speaker has now blown too! :banghead:

I have put in a bid for the other speaker. Hopefully, that will be accepted so I can replace both speakers at the same time.
