I don't think we can be overly upset over the death of someone we don't know personally.

We can be sympathetic to those affected but if we were to have genuine emotional involvement, we could never cope as we are bombarded with tragic stories every time you switch on the news or pick up a newspaper.

It doesn't mean we are being heartless, it's just a survival mechanism.

I am reliably informed that a waxed fanny is better than a shaved one.
I don't know much about lemons though.

She must have been troubled. Father Huey Green, mother Paula Yates who then moved onto Bob Geldof and then Michael Hutchence for those are the ones we know of. Her mother then committed suicide with heroin overdose following death of Hutchence when she was 11. She did well to make it to 25.

Ehhh? I didn't write Huey Green was the father of any of her children. This would be gross, her own children with her father! An accidental heroin overdose following the death of her lover Hutchence who was also on drugs fuelled journey to oblivion …….. Hmmmmm. She can't have been in the best of mental health especially as she was taking heroin at what was likely a very difficult time probably a time in which she probably wasn't the best mother to Peaches if she was on heroin for much of it. History seems to have repeated itself.

Ok, you may want to revisit the first post quoted and edit it a bit to be sure people don't think you've googled in haste and got the family tree totally and incestuously skewed.

As for your quite categoric assertion in the same post that she committed suicide. If its all the same with you, I'll go with the verdict of those in possession of the facts. There is a big difference between stupidity & a dreadful error in self medicating away the pain of a shock bereavement and deliberately choosing to end your life, as shown by the Coroner's verdict.

Maybe Google a bit more slowly next time since you're not coming across as someone willing to put your hands up to getting it wrong.

er, you kinda did. The way you worded it sounded like you thought Hughie Green was Peaches's father.

Its is a shame when anyone dies!, especially one so young who is leaving behind children.
And how quick society are to judge her and speculate based on her past, it is simply a sad thing no matter what the cause! RIP

Er, to be fair, some of us aren't judging or speculating, just don't think it's worth banging on about. Idle judgement/speculation and mawkish, sudden public mourning are two equally extreme and meaningless reactions.
