Pedal removal

Place the pedal you don't want to remove at six o'clock and stand on it, lean over the bike and attach wrench to pedal with wrench facing front of bike. Lift up on wrench to release pedal, repeat with the other pedal. This is the best way to remove pedals, you have a lot mor natural leverage and you keep your hands well away from any pointy bits.

Thanks all, I will definitely do this myself when I change my MTB pedals later this year. Yes, my lbs added some white greasy stuff to the pedal threads.

I had to throw away a good Park pedal wrench when a housemate who I'd lent it to moved out.

He'd left it in a box with a couple of other tools and on the top of them were two used latex items. They weren't inner tubes although they had been filled with slime
A sturdy par of rubber gloves, offending items in plastic bag, clean tools, drive to offenders new address, deposit offending items through letterbox, remove rubber gloves.
