Wow, that's really bizarre. You'd think he'd at least try the burger after you made an effort to accomodate him. If he doesn't like it, fine, but at least try it. He must know he's difficult to cater for. Absolutely just tell him to bring his own food in future.

He sounds like a total self-gratification artist from what you say here, but does he have any redeeming features? I presume there must be some reason why you invite him. If not, why bother inviting him at all?

Omit him from one of your gatherings. It might be such a relaxing and pleasant experience that he gets omitted from more.

I agree with this. Life's too short to befriend peanuts. Next time phone him up and tell him you're having a barbecue and he can f**k right off.

When I first read though the post I thought the OP was talking about a child, the son of someone he invited around.

But this is a mate, a peer, a grown up???? He has more patience than me. Dude needs to mtfu and get some manners.

It sounds like the guy is on the autistic spectrum, both the fussiness/preference for bland processed food and the inability to deal with it diplomatically suggest that.
