Saddle and pedals re fitted to my R.E.W Reynolds so it could have it's first outing of 2026 earlier today.

Sounds like I have been asked to clear out an elderly cyclist's collection of bikes and parts 🤔

So far all I have been told is that at least 4 bikes, one being a 2010 ish Kona tt , a more recent Willier flat barred road bike, a Roberts steel TT bike and a Roy Thame light touring bike.

Plus associated spares.

Two fresh arrivals
One marked up as a Roy Thame with mostly campagnola parts and chrome half rear .

The other is unbadged so unknown lovely clover leaf cut outs on main lugs and playing card fork tags with a 4 digit frame number seller thought Holdsworth but not sure. It has Campagnolo Portacatena rear dropout holes which dates it late 70's

Rear stays not as slender as expected again mostly campagnola.

Both have received a slight fettle and a short test run.

The Roy Thame will take 27" wheels but not with guards and without swapping calipers so presume built for 700's .

Unknown won't take 27" wheels as ground out on underside of the fork crown.

On initial ride seems livelier than Thame .

Braze-on shifter mounts and chrome stays & forks are usually indications of an upper range frame.

I thought the Thame was ready for a 5 mile test ride today to see where we are with it.

Well after 400 yards I felt very cramped so stopped to lift the bars and then stopped again to move the saddle backwards on its rails which all helped.

So set off and it rides nicely gears all seem to select well brakes need a bit of adjustment still but overall felt good, next is a longer stem to see how that feels.

Found an hour earlier which was just enough time to swap 60 mm stem and 3t bar set out for a 95 mm cinelli stem and a set of cinelli criterium bars which should give me the length I need .

Managed to re use original tape and even installed it the right way is centre to ends . Kept the campagnola levers , I suppose I should have done at least the inner cables .

All done using one of my favourite campagnola tools as well

I think they are both Roy Thame, they went through a phase of Cloverleaf lugs like Mercian Strada Speciale. Both really nice.

Both 70’s very likely. The cream Roy Thame has a first gen campag super record rear mech. (Black top and bottom). It will have the year and PAT on the top.

Strange how you think that as the seller thought that but was put off as one has a 4 digit frame number and the other 5 digits. It's got Patent78 on the rear mech. It seems not to have a B adjustment screw is that normal?

The yellow one has the portacaenta drillings so late 70's was my thinking on that one.

Yes I liked them both soon as I saw them along with a really gorgeous Roberts TT bike that the seller was also selling which I think you would have liked as well.
