One of ours walked over OH's laptop last week. He managed to lock it up completely. Apparently it took 5 minutes for OH to get it to crash and shut down and then reboot

Those big warning signs on motorways that tell everyone to slow down to 50mph, or even 40mph, when as becomes clear a few miles later ('END'), after they've been totally ignored, relate to an incident that was over & done with hours ago. Why don't they turn the damn things off as efficiently and quickly as they turn them on?
Some bureaucratic numbskull somewhere is presumably doing it with the gormless notion that it's better to be safe than sorry and all they're doing is erring on the side of caution, when in reality It brings the whole system into disrepute, and positively adds to the danger and uncertainty of an inherently not entirely safe activity - hurtling along in a tin box at life-threatening speeds. And breath...

People (or in this case, the only person at my gym) at the gym who "reserve" machines/benches/other by leaving towels/belts/gloves/other, lying around on them. It's irritating. Cease and desist. Ta.
