Yesterday we went in search of a flat bit of Kent. Dusted off the touring irons, an 87 Raleigh Randonnuer and a 93 Galaxy. So a 42mile round trip from Dartford (ish) to Cooling. It's a bit lumpy getting there but nice open flat landscape once you are. Now I do not consider myself unfit nor am I super fit either by any means but have to say the first day of higher temperatures took it's toll! So boys and girls get those bottles filled and something in your back pocket ^_^

It’s pouring here.
grey skies and flipping miserable.

At friends house, no coat, no wellies and my lovely Mercian (which isn’t going out in this weather).

My son just arrived (in Hertfordshire) from Manchester, the irony of the reversal of the usual weather wasn't lost on him, he was wearing shorts and T-shirt sauntering through the rain from train station to car, as it has been super warm in Manc this morning

Could get uncomfortable cycling in the buff on a hot day?
Not uncomfortable that day but night and next day could be.

Coventry's been cool and cloudy all day, but now the sun is starting to shine.

It's even dry and sunny (ish) in the west of Scotland today. Not particularly warm, and a fresh breeze from the south though. I put the breeze to good use by taking the bike in the train to Girvan, and cycling home in a roughly northern direction. 62 miles, most of it very pleasant. But the road surfaces in south Ayrshire particularly around the Girvan/Dailly area are shocking.
