Immediate unspoken response, please don't, it's dangerous. Actual reponse, keep quiet until the full horror is exposed of how many hours of work it will result in, or what it will cost me/us, or what thing that I enjoy that I will have to give up.

"it'll be all-right"

By way of context, it took me a little while to realise that nearly every time I'd hurt myself or broken something expensive , that little phrase had run through my mind beforehand. I now treat it as a warning and have another think before acting. I was already reasonably OK on "what happens if?" but needed to make sure I did actually address the "what" rather than believing "it'll be all right"
