Firstly apologies for starting a new thread, but I'm going to take advantage of the sales that are currently going on and would like you experience people to suggest the number 1 and 2 picks from the list below.
I'm a tall (6' 4"), heavy (16 st) guy so would require a sturdy bike. I will be cycling 20 miles (2 x 10) a day on terrible, bumpy, pot-holed roads so need a bike (with rims/tyres) that can handle this terrain. I may (MAY) venture on a canal gravel path so it would need to handle that too. I prefer the upright position for comfort. I'm not too worried about lightness or speed as I will never race the bike. Comfort over performance! It must be able to take front and rear mud-guards and a rear pannier rack.

A lot of bikes I know but its so I can pick a good one. I've numbered them so you can simply give your favourites (i.e. you could say first pick is 7 and second is 2).
Of course I will try them (or sit on them) first but I won't go to every shop so I would like you to pick two so I can narrow the selection down. Any of the prices listed is fine for me. I'm a novice so not fussed about brands, although I do require BANG FOR BUCK.
Thank you for your help.
