Just a poll to see who does what. We all pootle at some point but how do you prefer to ride.
I thought a pootle would be about 11mph average. correct me if iam wrong, it only a bit of fun.

Depends. If I'm commuting it'll be 14-16mph, out with the club (and fit) 20+mph, etc.

I don't think I've ever completed a ride at 14mph (I work in kph, and too lazy to convert).

So no option works for me, either.

Can't vote as my rides can be pootle, 14mph average and 16mph average. Depends on bike,destination and father time.

Depends what mood I'm in sometimes I like to explore and just pootle at 13-14mph but other times I like to go a wee bit more harder without pushing my self (15-17mph depending on terrain). Other times I like good training rides around 20mph with a purpose or faster TT's (23-25mph depending on terrain).

At my age and state of health I pootle. I used to have a computer on each of my bikes and trikes and spent a lot of time trying to get the average speed up on each ride. I had one fail on me and realised that I'd enjoyed that ride far more than my last hundred. I then removed all of my computers, forgot about speed and enjoyed every ride rather than obsessing about an extra 0.1mph.
