Penge, to me, is forever associated with The Penge Bungalow Murders. Alone and without a leader.

We stopped at this place in Bavaria, on the way back from a skiing holiday in Austria sometime in the early Eighties. Just to pose for a photo by the road sign.

Edit: The road sign was always being being nicked by people like me, as a trophy. The locals got fed up. I think they used seriously industrial "tamper-proof" fixings later.

Yes, same here. Should be subjected to some linguistic, psychological investigation, as I have never been able to figure out what's odd/unappealing about it. Within "penge" must lurk some dark insight into the human soul/horrifying truth about the universe and our part in it.

I grew up just outside Mold. Or in Welsh Yr Wyddgrug ... how many extra letters ... ( I know why - Mold is a contraction of Mont Hault - Anglo Norman High Hill Yr Wyddgrug is the old Welsh for that )
