Another great one is Ipod cyclists on tow paths cycling in middle of the path then right, then left, then middle again....really hard to move past and near impossible to say "excuse me" over the music without sounding agressive ...
Had women today IPOD on bike in River Lee tow path, cycling all over the path, no way to move in front, so i say "excuse me"......nothin..
Getting nearer..."excuse me..."...nothin, i pull next to her and say "excuse me"........she then slams on brakes and falls off bike...
Ask if she all right, she replies "sorry what?"![]()
What DrSquirrel said. If turning into a side road, you should give way to pedestrians crossing. If you can't, then you're driving too fast.
That's not the reality though. Just look at such places and you mostly see pedestrians stood on the edge of the pavement anxiously waiting for an opportunity to scuttle across before the next car gets them.
It shouldn't be like that though... its just big bully boy cars(/bikes) not giving a shoot about anyone else...
Yep, but look on the bright side. They did get their almost ubiquitous segregated walking facilities.![]()
Has the proportion of people walking increased or decreased since segregated pedestrian facilities were introducedYep, but look on the bright side. They did get their almost ubiquitous segregated walking facilities.![]()
I think you could ask that question about both of the people involved in the incident you describe...Sadly there looked to be a terrible collision between a motorcyclist and a pedestrian this morning, along London Wall. I'm assuming (with very limited knowledge) that a pedestrian tried to run across the road but didn't have sufficient time, and the motorcyclist didn't have a chance to stop. That particular area is notorious for lemming style pedestrians, in my experience.
Why are we all in such a rush to get to our destination 10 seconds faster?

Whereabouts on London Wall was this? East or West of City Road? The western section up to the roundabout feels uncomfortably like a race track at times
