I know of a de-registered solicitor with double drink driving charges, perverting the course of justice and an 18 month jail sentence under his belt. He's a successful teacher and the convictions have no relevance to his job as a teacher.

I also know (on good authority from an admissions tutor) that the majority of applicants from one geographical area for one particular teaching subject have one or more blemishes on their criminal records. If the crime has no direct bearing on the responsibilities of teaching and the safety of children then there is no barrier to entering the profession.

Thats just like saying speeding tickets are not required, everyone should stick to the speed limit, it's probally not going to happen.
I travel by train very rarely, it was an empty carriage, shoes were not on the actual seat, i was not intimidating anyone, yes i know i should not do it, but surely everyone is allowed to make a mistake, this is the first time i have ever been in trouble with the police, not the sort to cause any trouble.

Well it depends on how serious the 'crime' is, i personally do not believe putting your feet on a seat can be treated in the same way as possessing drugs, theft and speeding, just my opinion i suppose.

I am just completely bemused by this thread. You do something wrong, you get picked up, you learn by your mistake. Most people would not have put their feet on the seat. What is so difficult about that.

Instead, we have an outpouring of victimisation and the claim that some crimes are greater.
