The very same place. I have had a number of occurances there - usually after I have had a late one at work on a Thursday or Friday evening and tje office bods have had a chance to have a few sherbets. That and in the morning rush hour when drivers ignore the contra flow cycle lane. Actually I should probably find another route!

It's a good point about finding another route..I've been using the route for about two years now but I've used every other route to get to SW London and they aren't really much safer...Used to use the bit up from Southwark Bridge to Tower gateway but too many idiots up there (and lorries) so preferred to take my chances with pedestrians..I've been the Elephant and Castle way but I didn't find that a fun way from Tower Bridge and I must have encountered crap on every variation of routes I've chosen through London so for avoiding cars I find this route not bad and defensive.Another problem I find on the route is many people don't look when they cross or don't look properly or have a mobile phone glued to their ears..I've actually seen people reading as they walk along...WTF is that about? @Dave the Smeghead

Talking of gangs of drunken tossers, woke up this morning to find someone has walked down our road and kicked every single parked car's wing mirror off.
Merry bloody Christmas!

Hope they did not hurt themselves kicking them off, you never know the judge could lock the cars up.

Just finished the commute home from work during which I got pulled off my bike by some p*ssed up idiots whilst waiting for the traffic lights to change at the end of Lombard Street at its junction with Gracechurch Street. Wrong place at the wrong time. I took a kick to my back that thankfully was mostly cushioned by my rucksack but I did manage to pull one of them over and ensured that he can't eat his Christmas dinner as a few of his teeth are now on the pavement there. The rest then ran off pretty quickly. Unfortunately no police were about at the time.
So do I report this to the police or not? Would it be a waste of time as no real damage has been done and I couldn't identify the group if I tried? I didn't really see them as they were behind me when they pulled me off the bike.
Call the pigs immediately (at the time when it happened)... easy to say as I have never bothered in a similar situations. Your mistake was in thinking that as you won no point in calling the police but you can come a cropper from that. Best to be first to make the call plus you never know CCTV may have them.

Normally I'd say report it, but in this case I'd not bring myself to Plods attention.
Good point but as I said first to call. If they don't, you will always be the aggrieved person. Even, if they call after you. Again easy to say with the benefit of hindsight.

What you don't want is for them to report that a cyclist assaulted them, and for you to then have to present yourself to the police. You'll be coming off the back foot and it might not look too good.

As I said, first in is the aggrieved person. Literally, well most of the time!.

Is that your go-to expression for the police?

Don't see so much plod there now.Even when that van at Cannon Street almost reversed into me and I was having an argument with the van driver about how great his driving was, unbeknown to me plod was a few vehicles behind and must have seen the incident and did bugger all as usual.
That's what I find about the police: they do bugger all!

I bet they don't!
My dealings with the Police over the years make me believe that like car drivers, the French and people in general, they are overwhelmingly decent people who will bend over backwards to help, given half a chance.
Seriously.
The world is full of people who will help you out. The thugs the OP encountered are a small minority.
