Does your daughter pass by Greek St then rich? Maison Berteaux is a nice place for a cake stop! It is right by the lab. and studio...

The geography of London always baffled me even when I lived there for 3 years! She rides from Clapton ('ackney' to The Guildhall in the city.
It's all greek (street) to me:wacko:

Of the songs mentioned so far, I'm with y'all on:
Gnarls Barkley - Crazy
Eminem - Stan
Amy Winebar - back to black
Outkast - Hey Ya
Can't get you etc - Kyle (written by former guitarist out of Mud  )
Laura - Scissor Sisters
Teenage Dirtbag - Wheatus
I bet that you... etc - Arctic (Flying) Monkeys
anything by Madness :biggrin::becool::sad::becool::becool::becool::becool:
bohemian like you - dandy warhols
steal my sunshine (1999 though, I think)
LDN - Lily Allen

To these, I'd add The Ting Tings - That's Not My Name (quirky, original, and the woman reminds me of a girlfriend I had in my early 20s ) and Warwick Avenue by Duffy (I very quickly went off Duffy... she sounds and looks like Orville)
Plus I'd also add Keane - Somewhere Only We Know
Franz Ferdinand - The dark of the Matinee
Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger and
The Bees - Chicken Payback :becool:

Franz Ferdinand - The dark of the Matinee

They are a great singles band and one of the few arty and clever acts to cross over to the mainstream - 'Dark of the Matinee' is my favourite of theirs too but 'Take Me Out' has to be up there in terms of 'pop' - it's one of those songs that will get people dancing in a crazy style in almost any context, which is definitely one sign of a good piece of pop. Great videos too.

(Chelsea Dagger is almost the opposite - a big stupid irritating terrace chant instead of a song IMHO)

With you on 'Take Me Out'. Have to disagree about Chelsea Dagger though... may I also add: Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood, also Dirty Harry

Good call on Crazy in Love - the hook in particular is pop perfection.

Outkast - Hey Ya

(although not the official video but love this version :?: )

i loved it when it first came out then grew sick of this at the time because it was overplayed - every time i had on the radio it was on, every time i was in a bar or club it was on! - but after a break from hearing it for a while i heard it again recently and love it again.

Kylie Minogue - Can't Get you out of my head

lalalalalala

I was just trawling through the posts to see if anyone had proposed the two above and there they are on the same post.

But then even stranger....

With you on Outkast and Kylie...

I find (and this must be a first) that I am in agreement with FM on something.

I will now go and review my musical taste.

(actually I only like the Andre 2000 half of Outcast) the other bloke is crap)

Kylie - I was also thinking about that other one where she is sunbathing. The little tune is burrowing around my brain but I cant remember what it is called.
