Michael Winner did a series of car insurance adds that are still Rockaay's all time favourite moments on the telly box, ever, but, did you also know that in 1985, he bought an Austin Montego?? (Rockaay, not M.W.).
Yes, indeed, and he loved that car, or to be more exact, he fell in love with the electronic voice who told him what to do. He even had fantasies about it!!
He also knew however the owner of the voice must have had severe learning difficulties as it had problems saying things at the best of times, but that made him love it even more, and he remembers sending a letter to Austin congratulating them on their equal opportunities policy.
His infatuation finally stopped when he got a restraining order from the poor woman who had done the recordings as he kept on asking her to say increasingly rude and obscene phrases.
