One of the lads that used to work for me in the Navy, nicknamed "Red" went home early one weekend on a Thurs lunchtime and found his (divorced ) mum in bed with " Reg Varney "!!! ( he had never met him before that was their introduction ) ....just imagine if he had the quick wit & nerve and said "Can I see your ticket please?"!!!!

Or put on his best Blakey voice and said "I'll get you for that Butler"

I worked at the BBC and did some work in "The Sky at Night" production office. Sir Patrick Moore sent out one of his aides for proper coffee and cream cakes while I was fixing his PC.

I have a friend who's daughter still has a pet snail. Called SlowCoach. Is this a Birmingham thing?

I can twist my feet around (left anticlockwise, right clockwise) until they end up behind me pointing backwards.
A mate of mine did that with one of his legs at school once. It would have been much more impressive if a heavy rugby tackle hadn't just snapped his femur ...! :cry:He hadn't felt any pain, went to stand up, fell over, looked down, saw his foot facing in the wrong direction and ... came round in an ambulance on the way to the local casualty department (it was the pre-A&E era)!

Scrares the hell out of my 4 year old nephew but it's fun watching him run off into the distance

Yes, he was but I never met him. The only other reasonably well know players I met were Roger Uttley (I played for Gosforth when he was captain, but I never made the first 15 so didn't play on the same team), and Ray McLoughlin the Irish prop forward.
