How many hours have you had on the battery?

Not sure if it's the make of battery ??

I'm getting about, well I'm all over the place on training at moment with the variety I'm doing...

Tho I'm sure the conditions are negating the battery levels...

By the way, the cold doesn't actually drain the battery. The charge is still there it's just that the voltage drops when it gets cold and it appears - to all intents and purposes - to be exhausted. But it comes back to life when it warms up. Not that this subtle difference really has any practical meaning when your device stops working in the cold.

Damp won't have any effect unless your device is not weatherproof, in which case you probably have bigger problems than just battery life.

For my GPS and camera in serious subzero conditions I keep them under my coat close to my body.

My battery is the one that came in the unit from new. It could kind of make sense about cold affecting voltage but it's not really got that cold yet. I've done a few hours since the warning came on and its still working fine so I'll just keep on going until it doesn't I guess.

PM didn't fire up last night. So, from my findings you have about 5 hours after the warning comes on with the stages unit until it dies.

Which brings me to the charge/energy status of the battery in the device as per the About Status on the Garmin setting panel...

It goes:

New

OK

Then Low I think...

Swapped out the battery before tonight's ride and there was evidence that a bit of moisture had got in. This has to be the reason for the poor battery life I guess.

Wonder if it would be OK to wrap black insulating tape around the whole crank arm to eliminate the problem?

I've never used one, I responded to your rudeness with silliness and typed out the answer I got after Googling 'power meter battery life'.

No, theirs no rudeness or silliness simply a discussion about Powermeter.

Your answer was inflammatory imo

You're making out you've a PM when you haven't and that doesn't help the convo.

So your taking the literal.

: I don't chat the monotonic take-the-piss-cynical-offensive-attitude of soo many here - just forward plain speaking understandable well meaning friendly jokey sensible discussion!
