There's a lovely dutch phrase when translated means "You are not made of sugar, you won't melt in the rain!"

The dutch get on with their utility cycling whatever the weather so why can't we? :okay:

Yes, on a recent visit to Netherlands, we noticed that.

It may be infectious, Mrs @BoldonLad, who normally would refuse to ride in the rain (problems of hair frizzing, whatever that means), even joined in cycling to Utrecht in a downpour. ;)

There are a few reasons for this.
1. The rain clears the cycle tracks of people, both walkers and fellow cyclists. (I ride a hybrid, mainly along the Swansea seafront)
2. It's cooler
3. I like the idea of battling the elements
4. Less idiots about in general. The sun seems to bring all sorts of proles down to the seafront on their annual outing

What's your views on cycling in inclement weather?
(Roadies probably hate it as I would imagine it ups the danger level considerably for all sorts of reasons)

In terms of commuting, the roads are much busier in the wet, so I'm saving even more time by being on my bike.
