If you are considering tubeless rims, Kinlin XR22 or XR31 are a good value option. I've built a set of XR22s for myself and they are £35 each from Spa Cycles. Fitted Schwalbe Pro One tubeless tyres without too much of a problem, the 30mm versions measure 29.5mm width installed and have replace 28mm Conti GP4000 (which measured at 30mm width). I'm running them at 68/72psi on my Equilibrium (I weigh just under 90Kg). The ride comfort is sublime, far better than the Contis, indeed my first thoughts were they felt like the Vittoria Hypers that I have in 35mm on another bike.
Have a look at https://thecycleclinic.co.uk/pages/tech-page for information about the "issues" of running tubeless.
I'm a convert.
Interesting point - I currently run 25mm and think that 28mm wouldn't fit the frame I have. Were there smaller options?

If you want to treat yourself, and the bike, go here https://www.huntbikewheels.com/coll...-disc-brake-road-bike-wheelset-tubeless-ready

They're ace, light, robust, and tubeless ready if you ever want to make the switch.

I properly think a lot of wheel marketing is tosh but I can say with experience my bike feels faster and smoother since running the hunts (compared to the Mavic Askiums it came with). I replaced only after the Mavic started failing, but would recommend. I'm not yet running tubeless but will switch over once I've got my moneys worth out of the current tyres. Tubeless is a no brainer on MTB but now I've got all the kit it's not too much of a hassle for me to try it on the road so I may well be back with an update in due course!

YMMV and I'm astutely aware it might all be a placebo. I have no data to back up my smoother/faster feelings.
