Do any bike shops offer cycle parking? I'd happily pay a couple of quid to safely leave my bike while I visit the library and cafe, and it would provide some cost free income for the shop.

The local charitable concern did before it lost funding. £10 for the year, secured by the owner in a bike shelter in the rear yard. Never saw it in use, but I was only there 1/6 of the time.
Perhaps an idea that was before its time?

Yes, Bicycle Lounge in Ormskirk let riders leave their bikes while popping round the corner for coffee at Two Brothers.

Ormskirk FTW! My grandparents lived in Town Green, I spent many a Sat afternoon being dragged round the shops and market by one of them when I was staying over. I still have family in the area, might stop by this shop next time I'm there.

Understandable, my bike goes with me on the train. Even the so called secured Cambridge bike station has saw folk walk in and steal bikes under the nose of the guard.
When was Cambridge station bike parking ever secured? The Grand Arcade is the only Cambridge public bike parking that has been secured in the last 20 years, as far as I know.

King's Lynn has a cycle hanger in a car park. Basically a big shared locker. There's no signs on it about how to get access and several requests to the council hasn't revealed any usage figures yet. We told them not to put it there and that it needs better signs.

As said although it claims to be it isn't secured. They had this when I worked there between 2018 and 2020.

I'm shocked because I thought you knew better than that. That's Google AI. It's not reliable. It's told people that haggis is a small furry animal and to use glue to stick cheese on pizzas. Wasn't CyclePoint just the shop, not the whole 3 floors? And even then, it only claims it has CCTV for security, not that it's secured.

I think CamCycle expected that the shop there would offer secured parking like the Grand Arcade one, but did that ever happen? Then the shop closed during the pandemic anyway.

The first picture is not AI its Google Maps, its only what the owner is calling it, a secure bike store, I would call it not 😉 as you say its only CCTV and not monitored as much as folk claim at the moment. The Rutland shop is below the bike point bike storage and seperate. AI whether its to be believed or not does claim more security was due. Then again it also said that football team the West Midlands Police chief banned had caused several riots when they hadn't.

I think I heard that about the shop too doing more with the security though but Ive not been back since I was furloughed at the start of the pandemic. OT my d'lock is probably still locked to my old work stand off Hills Road.

The first picture only says "Cambridge Station Cycle Park", nothing to do with secured, and what appears on Google Maps is not controlled by the owner either. Heck, Google Maps renamed one neighbouring village to me incorrectly for about a year and renamed another to the name of a similarly-named Oxfordshire village for a while, which seems to have caused "nextdoor" lasting problems.

The Rutland shop is below the bike point bike storage and seperate.
And closed for years now, I think. I think there might be an Evans ( Frasers) in its place now.

Semantics read the review's its advertised to users as secure but it isn't secure hence most ratings are 1.

Be warned, in spite of an impression that this facility is safe and secure...this park is not secure and the cctvs are not monitored. If your bike is stolen the police will not follow it up and you won't be able to access cctv footage. Bike thieves are aware of this, so can come and choose any bike with impunity. My bike was one of 3 stolen on the same night even though we all had decent locks.
or
This place was before its opening promoted to me secure and safe to use. BUT IT ISN't.

The opening blurb also claimed its secure which it isn't.

The UK's Largest Cycle Hub Openend on the 15th February

CyclePoint opens its doors for the first time on February 15 2016, providing safe and secure parking in the largest facility of its type at a UK rail station. With on-site maintenance, cycle hire and a cycle shop all under one roof, this innovative project is the culmination of a programme of design, collaboration and construction between Abellio and partners, Network Rail, developers Brookgate and teams of contractors including Falco UK Ltd.

What it's advertised as on Google maps is basically fiction for some years now. As are many of the reviews.

Indeed. Nobody credible is calling it secure. Falco UK are muppets who I've seen claim you can install bike racks 1.6m apart and still somehow wheel a 1.8+m typical full size adult bike straight in. 🤦 They seem more interested in selling more racks than them actually being useful. Hopefully the 2020 DfT design manual recommending 3-4m with an absolute minimum of 1.8-3m has stopped their worst nonsense.
