What a prat i am haha, just googled it apparently they dissapear when the tyre is at the end of its life

Yes, they catch a few people out. Basically, when the rubber's worn down so you can't see the holes any more, it's new tyre time. Best check yours for what actually caused the puncture.

Don't worry about it, there have been folk take them back to the shop because they thought it was a manufacturing defect, and the shop staff not even knowing about it. It would help if Conti advertised them a bit better.

I still couldnt find or feel anything else in the tyre, it mustt have come straight back out because i changed the tube, and done another ten mile on it without it going straight back down haha

On a better note it was a lot easier changing it than i thought after people told me the tyres are a nightmare to get off and back on !

If it makes you feel any better, I didn't know about wear indicators either !!
Old and knackered, but still we learn!! Isn't life good?

I knew about wear indicator for reading something about them on here a while back. Had never actually seen them, thank you once again Cycle Chat
Btw, my bikes only "wear" Schwalbe tyres haven't they got wear indicators?
Maybe Schwalbe don't need them, the bike will collapse first before the tyres are worn out
