Does Mr Muscle window spray damaged the outside glass.Along with painting for the in laws i cleaned all inside windows. Then because of bird sheet i cleaned the main room window.Oh boy when the sun hit it two days later. It looked awful. It was as though it had burned into the grime.I am hoping the window cleaner who comes once a month, will wash it out over the next few months.

Stupid product for gullible people IMO. My wife uses it occasionally despite my remonstrations and I always laugh when I point out the streaky mess that is revealed when the sun shines on it afterwards. I find a wash with a weak washing up liquid solution (Fairy, but other brands exist) and then buff dry with an old towel is the best method, works well inside cars too, where streaky or hazy windows can be a mare when driving in low sunshine.

All that Windolene and Mr Muscle stuff(didn't know they made a window cleaning product) is rubbish. like you've experienced Posty, all it does is rub the muck into a paste and it stays on the window. You need a decent washing up liquid and some warm water. Buy one of those cheapo window cleaning kits with the squeegee and a blade. You need the blade more than the squeegee as that's the thing that takes the muck off the window, instead of leaving it on when you rub it into a paste with stuff like Windolene.
1)Dip squeegee(even a car washing sponge will do)into warm soapy water(about a tablespoon of detergent per half bucket)
2)Go up,down and across with squeegee or sponge(repeat a few times if hard to shirt stuff like bird sh!t)
3)Leave about 20 seconds for it to dissolve or soften the dirt(though if it's a warm dry day and the sun's on the window don't let it dry on)
4)Take the now dirty water off with the blade, though don't blade it twice as it'll leave a mark.
5)Finish with wiping the window gently with a piece of scrim(rough very absorbent cloth)
6)Stand back and admire your work!:sun: :becool:

Great, you've got the job. When can you get here?

Bird poo can contain bits of bone, make sure it is very soft and wet before removing, or it can seriously mark the glass or paintwork, as in the case of the car I am playing with at this very moment.

My trouble is cleaning the upstairs windows , cant seem to get decent angle/pressure to get the excess water off with the wiper blade bit , its a 3.5 mtr pole .

That's it. You either have to climb a ladder to get the right angle/pressure,or use a water fed pole and brush that uses deionised water. Which according to those who use them, doesn't need the water taking off with a blade as deionised water doesn't leave marks on the glass.
