Is this a Woodpigeon egg? It was outside my flat yesterday afternoon, under one of the big trees where Woodpigeons tend to 'hang out'. 🤔

Aren’t you just supposed to to switch the sides your medals are worn on if honouring a relative? Ie on the right lapel?

Why is Strava showing me as having got a KOM this morning despite it not even being my own fastest time on the segment in question and well down the overall list?

I don't know if this was the case here, but sometimes newly created segments take time for prior activities to be included. So sometimes it will show you as having a PR or KOM, then an hour or two later, as prior activities get included, that time will have dropped down the list.

But when you look at the activity, it shows achievements as they were at the time.

Yesterday I set off the alarm on an airport security gate. They swabbed my hands to test for explosives/narcotics instead of frisking me. Can airport security gates actually detect traces of these when you walk through them?

It would seem so as I had a chat with a tester in Zurich and he was certain the tiniest amount could be found from his swiping tool.

Surprised me.

Is it the 'straight and narrow' or the 'strait and narrow'? I would have thought it was the 'straight and narrow', but I saw 'strait and narrow ' in a book.

Straight and narrow as in ‘road’, afaik. Strait refers to a body of water. Or a situation in life. Hence ‘he found himself in dire straits’. You’ve got to love the English language. In what other could you write a viable sentence using one word?
