Definitely be careful when howking about in there.

Also, once it's sorted, make sure you put your phone in your pocket with the USB port pointing "up", or get a cover with a flap to cover to cover it.

It wasn't the charger or the USB cable, but the phone's socket! Currys where I got it on contract tried another charger/USB cable but that too was all loose, not charging my phone up. I've had to buy a new phone, as I wasn't due a new one on contract till May next year, costing me £169!!!🙄 Not only that but they didn't set it up for me, saying it was too close to closing time to do it, so I have to go back tomorrow! It's a Samsung A17, with the last one being an A16. Therefore I won't be able to post on CC till tomorrow at the earliest, when hopefully they connect my new phone to the Internet! I'm now down to a 9 percent charge, so I'm turning this phone off to save what I can for emergency phone calls etc.🙄

Wait. What? Currys don't do mobile phone contracts, they do sim free phones which you can pay off monthly and have a 12 month warranty, so they should replace it under that if it's only 6 months old, unless they're trying to tell you it's been accidentally damaged.

Many Curry's shops have Carphone Warehouse franchises in store. Who are part of the same group, so while technically you aren't buying on contract from Curry's, it certainly seems like it.

Ah yeah, I'd forgotten about that.

I'm pretty sure their warranty for handsets is 12 months though. I'd definitely be checking the T&C's.

Did you actually check it to see if the phone has fluff rammed up it's USB socket, I suspect Curry's have stitched you up for £169

I've got my money back! The USB socket on my phone WAS damaged, according to the independent phone sales/repairs shop I took it to today. He also tried blowing any fluff etc out with compressed air besides other things, but no luck, so he said he'd put a new socket in for £50, taking him an hour to do. He said I could watch and wait, or take the new phone back to Currys. I settled for the latter, getting a full refund, though I had to kind of demand it as they at first said only refunds are given for faulty goods. I then went to an assistant I know who said she'd refund my money for me! The only downside of the afternoon was that when I got back to the independent phone shop to pick my repaired phone up it wouldn't let me make phone calls. On opening it up, the shop owner said I'd left my SIM card in the returned phone, so I had to go all the way back to Currys to retrieve it, which took a while as they'd put the returned phone in with many other items, destined for redistribution in their storage room!

Mmm, I was going to post about that? Am I 'renting' the phone? If so, surely if something goes wrong with it, Currys should fix it without me having to pay anything. I really don't want to go back to put this to them as they are not helpful at all! Most of their staff seem to gather in small groups chatting, when they should be asking customers if they need any help or advice. For example, I had to break up a chatting group today to ask if this laptop was any good.

One member of staff said it was quote..crap!, then wandered off! WTF! Surely they are there to sell stuff, even if they don't rate it!

On about if Currys should've offered to repair my monthly contract phone. If they had done, would I want them to send it away for repair, probably taking at least a week?! No I wouldn't, so I was happy paying 50 quid and getting it back in one hour, not a week at least!👍

They're on minimum wage and any bonuses will either be linked to store or team targets, which are next to impossible to achieve unless everyone is hitting theirs.

Theres nothing wrong with that laptop, but it won't do anything your phone can't do.

I might buy that laptop.🤔 I only want one to do stuff I can do on my phone, but the obviously wider screen would be better for watching stuff.
