I am just about to put a frozen 'plate' sized pie in the oven.
Inside the box the pie is in a foil tray.
The whole pie is in pastry.
Instructions are.......
Place on a tray (mid oven).
There is nothing anywhere to say leave in foil/remove from foil.
Logic says..... if in a foil liner why do I need a tray.
I am inclined to remove from the liner and place on the tray.
Any QUICK thoughts please.

I'd definitely take it off the foil tray

How about what I do. Leave it in the foil, but 10 minutes before it is fully cooked pop it out the foil and turn upside down. I find it is less soggy that way.

Keep it in the foil, that helps to maintain the shape.

It's best to be on a tray in case any of the contents leak. Easier to clean the tray than the oven.
