My all time favourite program in my childhood and he was my all time favourite presenter. Looking forward to seeing BP after school, the show and his antics in particular were sometimes the only thing that made my childhood worth living. Sad isn't it. Thank you John Noakes for the memories.

Just seen the clip of him climbing Nelson's Column. Never mind the lack of safety gear by today's standards, look at the size of his flares! One strong gust of wind and that would have been it. Hats off to the man.
The overhang at an angle is a real scary one. That's what put me off ladders at an early point in apprenticeship . And nowhere near as high !!!

Such a shame he had the end we all fear..
I kept a relatively young woman distracted at Audley End House yesterday while her husband used the loo.
She didn't have a clue what she was doing or where she was..
Her husband was trying but he was as lost as she was in the dealing with her condition sense.
