I lived in the same village as Johnny Ball as a kid and I'm happy to report that he was as enthusiastic and lively in real life as he was on telly.

Just read John Noakes obit in the Telegraph.I suspect that whoever wrote that copy liked John Noakes,it reads well, sympathetically almost.Must have been a nice change from penning obituaries about criminal's, politicians and other nonentities whose whole life was dedicated to greed,self service and having their obituary in a broadsheet!

I attended a corporate event where Johnny Ball was a speaker. He has some odd views on climate change which I didn't like.
But he was a great kids presenter.
