According to one report of events (I didn't hear it myself), Nicky Campbell was so "into the music" he didn't realise what was going on.

Listening to the incident live this morning, and not being familar with the song I was initially taken aback by what I thought was **** YOU...then when they said it again a few seconds later I thought I must've just misheard otherwise Nicky Or Shelagh would've said something, then they said it again, and then a fourth time before anything happened.
Reading the story later I did chuckle at the irony of hearing the BBC had repeatedly asked them not to say '**** you, I won't do what you tell me'

No he hasn't.
Both RATM and Syco (SC's label) are both on/through Sony.
SC has nothing to do with RATM

From a classic album, 'wake up' my favourite track.

ratm's version of "renegades of funk" would have been a better choice in some ways, as it would have got more airplay (no swearing) but still carries a good defiant message.
There is a clean version though, available at most sites, including iTunes. Will be the version played on the charts show on Sunday, which coincidently is my 21st birthday, could be a great present ;)

It is annoying me though how Simon Cowell keeps on referring to the number 1 spot as 'Joe's', as if it's his god given right to be there... pfft.

Also the Daily Mail came up with a classic article on the incident on radio yesterday mourning, they were shocked as expected. Cheryl Cole has also stated it would be a sad day for the charts if an American Band got christmas number 1.... erm pardon??

There are about 20 million morons who watch X Factor and may buy the song; for Rage Against the Machine to be Christmas no.1, another 20 million morons would need to buy that track. From this, I will assume therefore that there are 40 million morons in this country who care what the Christmas no.1 is.

The number of normal people in this country appears to be rapidly diminishing!

Disclaimer: obviously not all 20 million would buy the track, but my point stands.

I think we're missing the point. Surely it's not anti-xfactor, but just to annoy simon cowell. Doesn't that make it worth it that 20 million people were happy to actively spend some money to stick a v-sign up at him. It doesn't matter that it's an organised rebellion and i'm being asked (not told) to buy RATM. The organisation and viral spiralling from what was a small facebook group has captured the imagination of the 15 year old anarchist within us and it makes me proud. 20 million superstars i say to counterbalance the 20million conformists. Ah sweet harmony ;)

The number of normal people in this country seems to be rising. It gives me faith and makes me proud! I love you all (although slightly less if you buy the xfactor single).
