Random fact of the day:
In its 170+ year history, only 3 grey horses have ever won the Grand national, The Lamb in 1868 and 1871, Nickalaus Silver in 1961 and, most excitingly to those of us who knew of the history of grey winners, Neptune Collonges in 2012.
A gap of 3, 90 and 51 years respectively.
Thankfully for my humane sensibilities, Neptune Collonges was retired from racing straight afterwards and therefore out of harms way (despite giving the facts above, I still despise the event for its needless danger).
