Why is 'youth' pronounced 'yooth' when 'mouth' is 'mowth'? And why isn't 'tooth' spelt 'touth'? If the plural of 'mouse' or 'louse' is 'mice' or 'lice' why isn't the plural of 'house', 'hice'?
