Why is 'youth' pronounced 'yooth' when 'mouth' is 'mowth'? And why isn't 'tooth' spelt 'touth'? If the plural of 'mouse' or 'louse' is 'mice' or 'lice' why isn't the plural of 'house', 'hice'?

What does a dog think the first time it sees a horse?

A) Bloody hell, it's going to cost them a fair whack to feed me when I get THAT big!
 Why does that big dog look so sad?
C) Oh look, a fine example of equus eaballus. Significantly different, despite the similarity in shape, to I, a canis familiaris.

Is the English language sexist, or is it just that peoples thoughts of certain words, mental pictures when a word is said, changed so that you imagine a 'stereotype' for that word.
For example, Batchular and Spinster.
