I have never understood anyone using a hand held phone whilst driving nowadays. Most modern cars (200on perhaps?) have hands free built in, or buletooth compatibility. Pure stupidity, but until they invent a roadside camera that will catch these drivers in the act then it will continue to go largely unpunished as there is a lack of police resource on the roads, nothing new there.
Seatbelts? It's only themselves who will end up getting hurt, but like many Americans (or is that generalising?), they expect the airbag to save them...

In my experience people who drive these stupid 4x4s are appalling drivers who couldn't care less about anyone else on the road.

My experience is of other people with anger management issues showing off their little man syndrome when their bully boy tactics don't work....

Genetically, ALL Range Rover drivers are tossers.
You have to pass the tosser test before entering the showroom.
Apparently.
Whilst generally there are like that, I know a few who I most certainly wouldn't describe as such, especially the one who gave me a lift after I was knocked off my bike; her husband is a cyclist and its ideal for transporting bikes.

Embassy official killed cyclist in hit-and-run on her way back from House of Lords function
Embassy official Natela Grinina killed cyclist Thomas Sippel-Dau in a hit-and-run accident as she drove her 4x4 home from a House of Lords drinks function, then sold the remains of the vehicle on eBay, a court has heard.

A man who drove through deep flood water and posted video footage on YouTube has been condemned by police.

The video, shot from a Land Rover being driven along a flooded stretch of road at Welney, Norfolk, shows water flowing over the vehicle's bonnet.

Norfolk Police said the driver's actions had been "extremely irresponsible and dangerous".

A quarter of Land Rover Discovery HSE V6 TD owners have been caught exceeding the statutory speed limit on a public road, new analysis reveals.

It is a fact that drivers of these vehicle break the law frequently, and put others at risk.

Personally speaking I'd love a Range Rover, not that awful looking new model, but either a proper one (1970-1995), or a L322 (the 3rd generation), with the TDV8
It'd top off my Land Rover owning career!!!

Don't believe I'm a tosser, never even been called one by any drunken patients either!!!

He must've been a numpty anyway, BlueTooth is standard on all models since at least 2005!!!

Isn't it more due to the wealthy being more lilkely to break the rules due to sense of entitlement and financial penalties are smaller in relation to wealth?

What they then choose to drive is a result of wealth.

not that awful looking new model,

Allegedly designed by Posh Spice. I think they just ran the plans past her:

Er, not here. I bought the 4x4 because it suited my needs of driving across farm fields all year round, lugging a load area full off stuff. Also a great family motor. Was it expensive? Depends what you compare it to. And if you haggle well they are a huge deal cheaper than most would think.
I have the same rights on the road a someone driving a Micra, Fiesta, moped, (dare I say it)- cyclist. I wear a seatbelt, I use the Bluetooth for the phone, I pass cyclists correctly (as I would wish to be passed myself).

So please, leave the tarring brush at home...

I gave a "Like" for you keeping your cool as well, and for not posting a banal video clip of it.

Its a lesson we can all learn from.
