Not being funny or picky, but didn't you start a thread a couple of months ago Joe, saying about the Geography teacher who you like ''to wind up''?

Yes, however that was last year, and after a phone meeting with my mum, i stopped winding him up, he stopped being a nob and all was well. Untill he tried his very hardest to give me a detention(6th form cant get detentions, so he had to do alot of work to get me a slip sent home!) and then my mum called a meeting.
He also called me a dick head and a retard to my face, and not in a jokey way.
And, as much as i can agree with him calling me a dickhead, a retard i am not! And he shouldnt call me a dickhead, or at least if he did then it should be in a jokey way, not straight faced:wacko:

Would it be controversial to ask why you hadn't bothered to do the homework?

No, its not that i hadnt bothered to do the homework, its that i had forgoten.
Which is what many humans do, Arch.

Its not really sticks and stones now, due to the fact that since before xmas time i had settled down and concentrated in his lessons, and could often answer the questions better then the other people in the class. Same goes with the work that we started for A2, im focusing on it and doing it.
But having alot of stuff on my mind over the weekend/not getting much sleep i forgot i had the work to do.

Is there only the one geography teacher... we used to have 2 teachers per A-level subject (and my kids at the moment seem to have 2 even in Years 7-9). Would any of the kids back up your side of the story if needed - preferably someone who wasn't your best mate.

Perhaps in your statement that you had forgotten you could of quickly asked whether you could do the work that night to catch up? (A little humility can help... I hate it when kids don't look bothered if I'm telling them off, whereas an nicely worded apology can go a long way).

Taking the biscuit
Just had the same problem with the eldest Miss tdr1nka and one of her tutors.
A call from me to the admin department to express my concerns, and to find out what the problem was from the point of view of the collage amounted to an admission of a 'bad attitude' on behalf of both my daughter and her tutor.

My advice to Miss Tdr1nka was much as has been said here.
The tutors have the power, you don't.
Sometimes it's better to just bite your lip and work thru sh*t to get to what you want.
There will be enough times in your adult life when you will have to work with people who p*ss you off, you should also expect to occasionally p*ss people off yourself and be able to settle differences and their consequences calmly.
Keep your head down and resist being lippy or arrogant.

Get the qualifications and the world is your oyster.;)

This is an odd thing to say??

Teachers are in a position of power, which is why they should NEVER call pupils retards or dickheads!

Think your all being a bit harsh on Joe here! Did no one else mess about when in school? if you dont like kids pushing the boundaries and testing your patience dont be a teacher.

If I have one suggestion, it's that if you think you are being treated unfairly, don't give your teacher an excuse.

He had already stated he had forgotten, the others made a dubious excuse but he told the teacher the truth in that he had forgotten.

Hope your not trying to wind Joe up?

We have 2 teachers for geog in 6th form, however, one teachers for 3 days(get along with that one) the other teacher's us for two(guy i have the problem with)
The teacher who teacher's us for 3 days cant teach us for any more.
The teacher/managment i spoke to actually couldnt beleive a 6th former had been sent out due to forgetting homework:wacko:

There are 3 other people in the class who can back me up, and 2 are not really good mates, just people i know in 6th form.

Nope, im being serious.
The other excuses are normall something along the lines of:
ive done it but forgot it, ive done it but its at home, ive done it but left it in another room/lost it, ive done it but i put it in 6th form and its been stolen/binned.(sometimes get the odd dog ate it)
I said, "sorry, i forgot to do it"

In which case keep your head down, don't antagonise him... let him do the talking... and see if he lands himself in it.

My mum puts it down to a personality clash rather then it just being me/just being him, but he disagrees with this.

I agree with that. Some do behave like that though and there is little you can do about it. Joe knows exactly how much time he's got to last out. It seems an eternity at that age which doesn't help.

My hope would be that the school chill the teacher out a bit and that when Joe gets into the 2nd year, the guy calms down a bit. When you've made it into the second year it's a bit harder for a teacher to justify the "waster" and you're just one year above school age thing, couple this with the extra work he's putting in I'd hope it works out.

I know what you said you div! ;)

Merely suggesting that 'some' posters may have not read the thread or are just trying towind you up, I am on your side, honesty is the best policy.

As Summerdays said a bit of humility doesnt go a miss either. Always suggest a solution to a problem you have caused (for example, a time when you can hand it in at a later date).
