You can at least pick it up, or get them to put on turbo. At least then you can order the right size

Have you ridden modern alu and carbon bikes at least?

Isn't Ribble close? http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/ribble-gran-fondo-special-ed-shimano-105-5800/

Yes,i have 2 new alu bikes, but i haven't ridden a carbon bike apart from a spin around the local park when someone lent me one to try. A bloke in our Wednesday group was selling that same Ribble you've linked, with a 105 groupset for £500, but someone else said it was over priced. There are so many choices and so much different information and opinions to influence me!

Why is it overpriced at £500 when £900 new?

Why not go to Evans and try a few bikes properly. Although I fear you may never decide, so just buy one of the two bikes from Paul's, have a new bike to enjoy and save further stress deciding ;)

Accy cyclist, what you need is a Scott Solace 20, within 20 miles of you, super light, full 11 speed Ultegra, new tyres. 32 on the cassette to get you up Whalley Nab, any test ride welcome. Think there's one for sale on the forum somewhere.

They're a bit too pricey for me, and second hand carbon, well.........

Sorry missed your point?

Please don't take it personally but second hand carbon doesn't come with a guarantee.

I wasn't taking it personally just that the bike you linked to is almost twice the price, and far inferior spec. I only mentioned it as I know you have been searching a while and had looked at a second hand carbon bike on here.

Good luck with your search

What makes Cube so good? I bought my wife a £1500.00 Cube GTC Race a few years ago, she thought it felt really nice, I got to ride it a few times and it did nothing for me, I know it's low end carbon so was not expecting it to feel great, But we also have an aluminium Ribble frame think the frame cost about £300.00, I would put that well in front of the Cube for ride and handling.Never ridden a Cube alli bike apart from an MTB which was nice. :okay:

The Cube did feel a bit better after putting some Mavic Ksyriums on it.
