We used to live in Southbourne, Bournemouth and not far from the Vernon model kit factory. It was staffed by a ageing workforce who had worked there for years, they even had a Morris 1000 delivery van.
Working at British Aerospace we could get a discount on their model aeroplane kits which we did we made lots.
One Christmas I decided to get my son a Vernon kit as we had boating ponds for tourists on the sea front. We built the kit, installed recharging batteries and radio control too. We had some fun in the summer. Here’s a picture of the kit.
