As an official 'old fart' I was determined to keep going over winter so as to be ready for Spring.
As is well documented me and cold weather are not friends.........in fact I b****y hate it. So 20 milers were the most I did over winter.........maybe one every 2/3 weeks-depending on the weather.
Over the last month I have been getting more 20 milers in and today pushed it to 30 miles. By the blumin blinkin flippin ecky thump............the last 5 miles were hard work.
I was glad to do it but ever so glad to get home.
Difficult to remember last summer when I was doing 40s, 50s and the odd 60.........I do hope it comes back soon.

We've been blessed with a comparatively mild winter this year so I have just hit 1,000 miles for the first quarter. Probably not a lot compared to some, but quite happy with that.

As long as your enjoying riding just keep doing what your doing the miles will fly by when it gets warmer

I bet you're in the top 10% on cycle chat. In fact just checked on mycyclinglog, you'd be 24th on there ;)
I will resist even looking at charts and stuff. Although I am finding my cycling much harder work and slower than I was a couple of years ago, I am currently quite enjoying it so I will stick with what I can manage comfortably without trying to push it.

I've got 1,800 miles in this quarter and strangely, most of that is on the turbo. It isn't for everyone but the likes of Zwift and TrainerRoad have really made a difference

You did better than I did over the winter, I had to have a month off due to a heart attack, now I can do the miles but they take a little longer, but I'm enjoying my pedalling again and thats the main thing.

Even though I live in a cold, wet and windy part of the country I've also managed 1,000 miles in the first quarter so it's doable, just needs persistence

It's miserable to be slogging up the hills trying to regain fitness so I try very hard not to let it go. In reality there has been very little snow or hard frosts that would tend to keep me indoors

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I have been lacking motivation tbh , need to get my ass in gear

I'm trying to do everyday for a year this year, i think.

I'm up to 1900miles so far and I think I am hitting a bit of a patch of good form, I have been setting PBs all over the place without really trying so the extra work seems to be increasing my fitness.

As I get older, regaining lost fitness seems to get harder.
