- You want hills? We got hills
There is a sensible and related reason - quite simply your clothes are damp with sweat, which is doing what it's supposed to do and cooling you down very efficiently. You will be low on energy and chilled so your body will shut down the blood supply to your peripheries in order to preserve core blood temperature for your brain. Have you tried changing into dry clothing as soon as you stop? Better still, having a quick shower then changing into dry clothing?
This is spot on. Your clothes are damp when you get home and you enter a warm house and this dampness starts to evaporate, drawing warmth from your body to facilitate the evaporation (for the physics nerds amongst us this is the latent heat of evaporation).
Whilst it's tempting to have a sit down when you get home, cup of tea, biscuit or whatever, the best thing to do is to get out of the damp clothes asap, have a shower/bath and then get into some dry clothes.
If you're going to have a shower, don't make it too hot. Too hot causes the blood vessels near the skin to dilate and this encourages further heat loss. Warm is better
