There is a sensible and related reason - quite simply your clothes are damp with sweat, which is doing what it's supposed to do and cooling you down very efficiently. You will be low on energy and chilled so your body will shut down the blood supply to your peripheries in order to preserve core blood temperature for your brain. Have you tried changing into dry clothing as soon as you stop? Better still, having a quick shower then changing into dry clothing?

This is spot on. Your clothes are damp when you get home and you enter a warm house and this dampness starts to evaporate, drawing warmth from your body to facilitate the evaporation (for the physics nerds amongst us this is the latent heat of evaporation).
Whilst it's tempting to have a sit down when you get home, cup of tea, biscuit or whatever, the best thing to do is to get out of the damp clothes asap, have a shower/bath and then get into some dry clothes.
If you're going to have a shower, don't make it too hot. Too hot causes the blood vessels near the skin to dilate and this encourages further heat loss. Warm is better

If all else fails, see a doctor. You may have an underlying medical condition:ph34r:.

Nonsense. It's completely normal to feel chilled after a ride. All the OP has to do is get dry and change into dry clothes.

This would happen to me as I approached my longest runs during marathon training. I would get shivers the rest of the day, long after a shower and change of clothes. I believe it is because our bodies have used up all available fuel. My guess is that the body then begins burning stores of fat. I'm a skinny guy to begin with which probably makes it more likely to be cold after extreme exercise.

Women are always colder than men because their reproductive organs are inside their body, and men's are on the outside.
what a load of tosh! the reason a men's are on the outside is because they need to be cool. the reason a woman's are on the inside is coz they don't need to be cool. the reproductive organs don't dictate the body temperature. if women had balls, they would be on the outside too. Whether you're a man or a woman, your body temperature is 37 degrees.

Uh!
First you say "that's just a woman thing. women are ALWAYS colder than men. God gave us men to warm our feet up in bed", which I took as good humour.
Then you state "Whether you're a man or a woman, your body temperature is 37 degrees.", which I take as nonunderstanding of someone else's humour.

PS. are your in the Solihull club, Shirley Roads or MC & AC ?

do i have to explain everything??? pay attention... we have thinner skin so therefore we feel the cold air around us more than men ! that's why we like to warm ourselves up on men... it's more energy efficient than shivering

none of those clubs mate, just cycle with friends.
