Who remembers Kardomah Cafes ? (You have to be of a certain age).
It was started in Liverpool by the Vey Bros who imported tea and coffee.
Early 1900s they were very popular with branches in many cities including Paris. They were a bit up market with string quartets.
By the 60s they were very popular with arty types and musiscians.
I am of that certain age and frequented some of the Liverpool branches early 60s.
From them on their popularity declined and now there is only one left and fittingly that is in Liverpool.
I remember them - and loved going into the one in/near St Annes Square in Manchester in the 1960s!

Yep I know some of the NACAS crowd might say, why not, but I always did a double take/double hear whenever she was announced.

When I was a child, my dad was a headmaster and there was a dinner lady called Ida ... Jones or Robinson or summat. She was a widow. After the summer holidays she asked to speak to my dad on a private matter.
She had remarried but didn't want her new name to be used - she had married a Mr Downes ...

Your ears play a part in transmitting taste signals to your brain, meaning that your ears have a role in how you enjoy food. Nerves run through the middle ear that send taste signals from your tongue to your brain.
