Yes listed, yes first female Chanc. the Listing didnt thwart the attempted removal, it was the historical significance element - i.e Churchill etc had pissed in it - that did.

The a couple of interesting facts about the "Royal Palace" in Berlin, now known as the "Humboldt Forum":

The completed building is less than 6 years old, and the baroque exterior matches the building that stood there until 1945. The government agreed to finance a new building on the site, but not a Baroque facade, so the facade was financed by public donations totalling 120 million Euro.
