Apparently cows kill more people than sharks per year. I didn’t even know cows could swim, much less take out a shark. But there you go.

Also farmers getting accidentally crushed in tight pens is sadly quite common.
If you don’t have a dog and it’s a big field they can be very curious but you should be ok. I’ve backed away from cows a few times, but once the settle down it’s ok.

Yes as a son of a dairy farmer, I can confirm they are naturally curious, but very rare for them to be actively aggressive, unless "protecting" a calf. Bulls running in with cows also best given a wide birth as likely to be fuel up on testosterone. Plastic straws were far less dangerous.
