Rear derailleur i think its done

Starts off ok but then wants to change gear and eventually chain comes off jockey wheel but just b4 that is seems to want to change gear. I have no cable attached

But it was on straight as I put it on straight and attached6 quick link but will take it off and try again

From the pics it looks as if the derailleur is not in line with the chain so consequently it is twisting the chain. Having said that, that is if the chain is perfect in the first place. When I had something similar with Shimano it was after I had taken the chain idlers off and one I had not put back correctly as it was directional, the top one I believe. If you hav`nt had those off then they should be OK.

Im brgiingobg yo get that sense if dread of feeling lbs ot.... halfords.... is gonna be next6 port of call. What i find so frustrating is there are countless of you guys n girls out there with all the helpful knowledge and know how. You tube videos......it a bike so not likr im building a car engine.....
I dont k ow could the cassetttw be out of alignment. But ive got a cassette chain tool /whip and locking nut....i shoukd he able ro d9 this by process of elimination @@ tha nk you all for alll ti ur commenst so dar. Apologie3 for spelling probably an indication of why so many "offs"

The cassette is not out of alignment so I would not touch that. You replaced the gear hanger but that alignment still needs to be checked. There are quite reasonable gear hanger alignment tools on the bay or where ever that do the job. I know, I bought one last year. Just a thought; when you got it knocked the chain may have also suffered a knock too and created a stiff link ? If you just watch each link go around the jockey wheels and see if you can see which one causes a problem.

chain looks odd but are the jockey wheels ok as from the photo its hard to tell but it looks like its got bent teeth ? and although the rear derailler has no cable attatched its not sitting in the fastest gear which is either bent derailler hanger or you high stop is to far in .

Tha k you all sorry for taking up your time. I have taken the chain off. I have a quick link which I put in...suitable for 10 speed. Whilst it says its compatible with most major brands it does have the odd curved look....
Chain laid out flat.
As i slowly turn the pedal it dead seem to happen at same point...the jockey wheel amd chain falling off which coincidentally was around where the quick link was. Im done for today but will check its going in the forward direction first... if that dont solve it. Well let's see. Cheers again!

Combination of 1. Being unlucky.. got hit from behind by an elderly lady in a car on a clear blue sky jday ust a dodgy bit of road m23/a23 redhill for those that know. .
The 2nd 2 . 1 was slamming on brakes as a woman in car looked like she was about to pull out and we'd have collided but she didn't.....but why I would skid on a clear day and fall off?
3. Embarrassingly an off whilst 1 handed. Downhill .. in front of 2 teachers and 20 kids doing a cycling proficieny course. If that's noti a lesson they'll never forget in a hurry!
