Cars don't give me a problem except for the rare occasions the driver doesn't dip full-beam, which is irrelevant for my commute. In contrast, very bright bike lights with an unshaped cone of light shining directly into my eyes definitely is a problem, which is hardly going to be solved by using the same.Get a light bright enough that you don't need night vision. Otherwise when you are on the road and Mr Fockwit BMW driver comes around the corner with thermo-nuclear xenon headlamps and fog lights then you will still be able to see where you are going.
