Thread resurrection but I may also be looking for a CX bike, only caveat is i would like to be able to fit mudguards but also want something racy if you know what I mean never been keen on the sportive geometry which is common amongst bikes.

I would recommend a Genesis Croix De Fer for the racy position. Mine was too racy so I sold it on as it was giving my back jib.

I replaced it with a Norco Threshold which is slightly less racey but comes with a smaller chainset (48/36) than a compact (50/34) and a wide cassette (11-30T). It also has rack and mount fittings. It was the A2 Threshold 2014. Not sure if the 2015 models still have the mounting points? I got it second hand but Evans are selling them.

Join British cycling, get another 10% off at halfords plus legal and 3rd party indemnity covers high make it pretty cost effective. I also like SRAM shifters myself

Of the other two, the cannondale has better groupset

Or if confident of buying online and it's the right size, this

105 groupset rather better than than on the specialized or cannondale...and it's not black ;)

Can I ask what's wrong with black?

Anyone know anything about the London road sram from planetx ?

I really like the look of it but assume it's only mail order

I don't understand the group set at all so not sure how much faster or slower than my road bike it might be

I tend to spin out at about 24 mph or maybe that's just my old legs

You can go buy it from their shop in Sheffield/Barnsley

After a summer of slogging about on my old mountain bike, I've taken the plunge and ordered the Boardman CX Team, the £250 off in the sale and then a further £60 off on the web was too hard to resist :-)

Did the same a couple of weeks ago, picking mine up Saturday. Hoping it does the job for winter.
