Must admit I thought it was a bit of a non-event myself. Bit rude of the taxi driver, but not really a near miss or anything. Sorry Dan!

When I watched it the first time I was surprised you were taking that exit, as you were very far over to the right, almost hugging the traffic island. Perhaps the driver was also surprised, and then instead of hanging back when you indicated, he decided to 'nip through'.
A bit of impatience on his part, but not really a big deal.
To be honest, I'd have forgotten all about it in about 30 seconds.
As an aside, your contact in the licencing office seems a bit over-zealous. The driver was 'absolutely floored' by the footage? Hmm.

A total non-event with the taxi, not ideal driving by the taxi but terrible road position by the OP so really a regular 6 of one and half a dozen of the other situation that both parties seem to have been well in control of.

Alot of comments on road position: there are no lines, thinking of it there is no paint on this roundabout until you get off it.
I took the roundabout like I do all the time and only once have I had this(incident we are talking about) but I had indicates well in advance for the taxi as I always do.
The main point I was making in this incident was that he undertook as I was changing lane of which I had right of way. I did adjust my turn as i had seen re taxi was going to undertake so that's why it's not a near miss.
Overall this is a poor roundabout in design for this turn off. The way I Tackled it is in no different from any car in the region, this is down to it's design,

I dont think the video clearly shows your intentions to exit at the junction, whether this is a fair reflection I'm not sure, the video is kinda inconclusive.
There's no road markings but plenty of room for two cars to navigate the roundabout side by side. I'd definitely be imaging two lanes as I'm going round it.
Shoulder check appears quite late - as you are adjacent/going past the previous island but its possible you can see him in your periphery and are indicating to make it clear to him before the shoulder check? I'd be shoulder checking before hitting the island.
You appear to be on the right hand side of the second lane rather than the centre. This indicates to other road users you have no intention of coming off at the next junction. Positioning in the centre of second lane would be neutral (no indication), centre/left and shoulder checks would be a strong early indicator that you are going to want to exit the roundabout/move left soon.
We cant tell when you start to indicate from the video so hard to comment on this.

It looks like you only indicated as he was more or less along side (that's when your hand appears in the video) but that may be deceptive. Also I would agree that you are on the wrong line through the roundabout. Maybe you were forced wide? Perhaps it's a good example of how camera footage can deceive as well as enlighten. Either way I'm surprised the driver was 'floored' by it and I can't help suspecting that the reply was just designed to keep you quiet.

It's also known as the motorcycle lane. Nothing wrong with using it.
