Repair to carbon

I was looking on Instructables site tonight and came across this guy who repaired his carbon seat stay, damaged by derailleur. What does anyone think of this? There are 47 pages to his instructable so it will take a little time to read, though all are very short and straight forward .

I have a friend who has repaired a carbon seat tube and a chain stay on a couple of his bikes using a similar method. The repairs have been fine. There is also this guy who is supposed to be pretty good at it.

I 'phoned and spoke with him when I spotted cracks in my carbon frame; he told me they were witness cracks and to stop worrying.

I stopped worrying and 5000 miles later the cracks are still there, unchanged.
