If someone offered me 50 quid to cycle one mile I couldnt do it:sad:Iv got flu....proper flu not a cold, and havent had the energy to get out of bed for 2 days:cry:
Feel a teeny bit better today but like all my stuffing has been pulled out. Meh.

Take it really easy over the next few weeks. I tried to bounce back from flu within four days of being initially bed bound and:-

I have flu to thank for my ability to stop smoking instantly without rehearsal or props - I couldn't get out of bed to get to them.

I also have flu to thank for the post viral complications that severely debilitated me for over a year and threatened to develop into heart failure.

I'm fully recovered and grateful for my introduction to cycling as a low impact form of exercise that allowed my weakened frame to get out and about under my own steam.

Wallow in the luxury of your bed and find someone to feed you peeled grapes and chocolate while you recover.

Felt really unwell yesterday and that was before I'd even got to Ilkeston where I was looking busy for the day, I battled on like a BLS though. Tell you how bad it was, didn't have a beer last night, nuffink...

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Spent last weekend running to the loo with the trots , starting saturday morning with tuesday being the worst, for 7 hours i had to run for the toilet every 10 minutes, once i did not make it in time once........
back to work wedesday felling utterly drained to get the " why did you have time off grilling ".
Last night was my turn to do the baby feeds so managed a good 3 hours sleep , now i got to go do the cleaning around the house and looks like no rides this weekend as the eldest has 2 parties to go to and its mum CKs birthday so we are taking her out .

My foot is much better but...in the process of limping around and trying to keep my foot up and hence sitting awkwardly at my desk, I seem to have aggravated some muscles in my lower back and my right leg's calf is tight and sore from being limped on. This is going to drag on for a few more days yet.

Thanks for your advice Vernon, (especially the chocolate bit;))
Iv not had flu before..thought I had, but in hindsight it was just a bad cold, this is far worse:sad:Im feeling a bit better today, and have ventured downstairs (!) Im not aching quite as much but I feel so weak and as if iv been turned to rubber. Its horrible, I have never felt so rough. Im not looking forward to going back to work on Monday but I really cannot take any more time off so Ill just have to see how it goes.
That bit about heart failure is scary tho..but good about the giving up smoking! I dont smoke tho, so wont have that benefit sadly!
Glad to hear you had a full recovery xx

Would you Adam and Eve. No one has stood on my toe for years, I mean years and today, today, it was stood on twice, the 2nd time by some hulking 6ft clodhopping giant of a bloke. Why does that happen. I mean, I couldn't care less if someone stood on my toe normally but today, not today, not while it's still twice the size it should be and a funny colour; In response, I shrieked like a two year old. People stopped talking and looked around. I hobbled out of sight as quick as I could, looking like a stand in for Long John Silver.
