Revolution Streetfinder just stolen: what short reach hybrid to replace it?

So I had been on this site a few time over the years asking about commuter bike stuff. I ended up with a modified Revolution Streetfinder (2009 spec) bought new and now probably in a river thanks to some scrote. I liked it because it was a short reach to the bars and upright slightly forward leaning position but with fast 700c wheels and rapid fire shifters. I really dislike a long reach to the bars and to be honest I think the new A Head steerers both look ungainly (3 bolts instead of 1 is an improvement?) and are difficult to adjust for perfect upright position but I suppose quill stems are old hat now? (Even though they are superior for 95% of the population who aren't downhill MTBers!). Any ideas on bikes? I was thinking Specialised Sirrus, Ridgeback Meteor, or maybe a Decathlon commuter thing... Not sat on any yet though. Weight not a big deal, just prefer a shorter top tube and rapid fire not not twist grips. Cheers!

Look at a used Whyte R7 model, eg Portobello. Fast flatbar with a more MTB inspired geometry

Halfords Carrera Subway

They have quite a few variants available now, eBike, Disc, etc

If you can wait there are semi regular x% off offers run.

Appreciate the suggestion but again this is a mtb geometry so quite a long reach to the bars . The Revolution was unusual in that it had a top tube reach about 2 inches shorter than most so it was a nice sit up position. And as most bikes like the Carrera have A heads it's tricky to change that... I read a review that complained about the Specialized Sirrus being too short and upright so I think I will try and find a stockist to have a sit on one 👍
