I'm waiting with baited breath for the OP in America to get up and log on...
So he's coming back to see what we are saying.
Edit: TMN to TMN (again!)

As they probably came to a cycling website seeking confirmation of this plan, and received common sense instead. He's probably not very pleased with the advice he's received and has dismissed us all as danged fools.
Sounds like someone screaming for help (from the USA) and doesn't know where to find it.
There is child to think of?I don't get it. You are "in the midst of divorce"? Then I am guessing your marriage is pretty well farked anyway. Grow a set; stick two fingers up to her and go and ride your bike as far as you can away from her.
Just my thoughts, which is what you asked for. I do tend to be a bit emotionally void about these things; life's too short.
Oh aye; I wasn't really considering the 3 year old. Then again, neither was the OP when he thought that disappearing for an extended period was a good idea. Which is one of the reasons why I think he should just do it; but stop kidding himself on about the reasons for it.There is child to think of?
Allegedly.
Anyhow, escapism does not seem the solution in this (alleged) case.
Where does it say this is a British cycling forum? Besides ... there are loads of people here who don't live in the UK. Myself included. So he picked a British cycling forum.
